Explore their amazing and eye-opening gallery, filled with the finest Western collectibles. This renowned gallery features rustic Western Furniture, rare Native American artifacts, Plains Indian beadwork, Navajo textiles, upper end Mission furniture as well as distinctive Western lodge furniture from Thomas Molesworth. This evening, the gallery will be featuring rare original illustrations on muslin of “Blackfeet War Records”, and proceeds of which will be shared with Native American Jump Start, a not for profit organization. This a must stop for any collector or admirer of western art and antiques. Attendance is limited.

THE HOUSE AND THE COLLECTION:

Located in the heart of Jackson, is a creative design collaboration by Farmer Payne Architects and the homeowner, noted art collector and interior designer Agnes Bourne. The home offers inspiration and gracious accommodation for visiting artists to the majestic Jackson Hole valley. Windows are strategically placed to offer views of the surrounding mountains while maintaining privacy for the in-town setting.

Natural light fills the space and compliments the artful décor and an insightful, contemporary art collection with works by notable artists such as John Cage, Roy De Forest and Henry T. Hopkins, as well as works by regional talent such as Ben Roth, Kathryn Mapes Turner, and Sam and Jenny Dowd.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM:

Farmer Payne Architects, a boutique residential architecture firm located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, with offices in Sun Valley, Idaho and Shreveport, Louisiana creates beautiful custom homes, luxury residential architecture, cutting-edge commercial architecture and interior design. Jamie Farmer and Scott Payne launched Farmer Payne Architects in January 2017. As a Jackson native, Jamie Farmer is grateful to have found his niche in architecture in his hometown and has been named “Best Architect for 2016” a Reader’s Choice Award by the Jackson Planet.

Agnes Bourne, A.S.I.D, is also a native of Jackson, Wyoming and has worked in the design field for over forty years, creating environmentally responsible and inspiring spaces. Trained in both art and design, her San Francisco-based office included an interior and product design studio, as well as a furniture and fabric showroom. Her work has been collected, exhibited, and published internationally. Bourne grew up surrounded by fine art and nature. She recalls her childhood home with works in bronze by Charles Russell and being inspired to draw animals. As a Jackson native, Agnes has a deep and abiding love for the natural world and creates spaces that are in harmony with their surroundings. She enjoyed working with Farmer Payne to create this special space for both art and artists.

Agnes’ interiors are art-centric incorporating a marvelous sense of color and texture. She is a trustee of The Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York City, a former trustee of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in London. She also serves as a director of the Jackson Hole Center for the Arts and will be on site to greet JHFAF VIPs and talk about her home and collection. agnesbourne.com

Meet Featured Artist Sarah Winkler

Sarah Winkler Presented by K Contemporary. Sarah Winkler is a British-American contemporary landscape painter who is best known for her monumentally scaled works that meet at the intersection of art and science. Her color-rich, luminous paintings interpret the geological storied past and eventful present of the formation of the American Western landscape. In direct response to her subjects, the artist incorporates crushed minerals from the region with ground water to create moments of connection, discovery and exploration in each piece.

 

About the Artist

Sarah Winkler ’s studio is perched on a 9k peak in the Colorado Rocky Mountains near Denver. She studied Art and Earth Science at William Paterson University, New Jersey, and combines both subjects in her geological landscapes and environmental artworks. Winkler has exhibited nationally since 2004 and was recently showcased at the LA Art Fair and Art Aspen in 2018 coinciding with a major solo show “Luminous Mountainous” in Denver at K Contemporary. In 2019, Winkler was selected by US Ambassador, John Pommersheim and the curators of the Art in Embassies program to participate in a 3 year cultural diplomacy exhibition at the US Ambassador’s residence in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Winkler was also invited to participate in Response, a contemporary one night, pop up art exhibition at the Colorado Governors Mansion in Denver.Her commissioned artworks are featured in many prominent private, public and corporate collections internationally. These include The Phoenician and Mountain Shadows Resort, Paradise Valley, AZ. The Hilton West Palm Beach, FL. The InterContinental St Paul, MN. The Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas. The Viceroy Aspen. Ritz Carlton, Denver, CO. One Empire Pass, Montage, Deer Valley Resort, Park City, UT. Chevron HQ and San Francisco General Hospital, CA. Features and reviews of her work have appeared in publications such as Scientific American, Dwell, Alpine Modern, Mountain Living, Luxe Interiors and Design, CREATE! and New American Paintings. Hilary HatfieldHilary Pierce Hatfield is the Founder and President of Art Collector’s Athenaeum, a service that develops digital archives for private art collections. Hatfield has worked with numerous museums in facilitating exhibitions, loans, gifts and acquisitions; including the Musee de Vernon, in France, The Hunter Museum, The New York Historical Society, National Museum of Wildlife Art and The African American Museum in Philadelphia. In 2020, Ms. Hatfield is co-curating an exhibition at The Museum of the Americas in Washington DC. *For VIP or DAY pass ticket holders only.
