The Magical World of MC Escher

Gino Miles, Courageous. Represented by Thomas Paul Fine Art (for immediate acquisition). This awe-inspiring and monumental work sits at the fair’s entrance sidewalk. This is the artist’s most ambitious and largest piece to date. This “courageous” project, was inspired by Gino Miles’s grandson showing courage in taking his first baby steps. The Santa Fe based artist has worked on this gigantic sculpture for over 5 months in his studio, with his tree assistants, from where it is being trucked, especially for this fair’s dramatic sidewalk entrance. His large scale works are featured in many public and private collections worldwide including: the Evansville Museum (IN), Polk Museum (Lakeland, FL), Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green (KY), Disney Corp. in Burbank, the cities of Cerritos and Napa, Ca, and others.

Jeremy Kidd, 2019 Photographer of the Year Honoree (Presented by Imago Galleries – Wall A). Discover the eye-catching works by Jeremy Kidd, who shot the Teton Mountains this spring, using his unique photographic technique. Kidd presents a condensed vision of multiple photographs as a metaphor for repeated perceptual glances.

Bland Hoke, Otto the Goldfish, is an indoor suspended sculpture installation in the main hall. Inspired by the children’s book Fish Out of Water, Otto began his life at The Center for the Arts over the winter of 2017. Now he has found residence at the Snow King Events Center, in search of new waters to swim in. Based in Jackson WY, Bland Hoke combines his unique background in public art with a love of the outdoors and cutting-edge urban design. He is known for creating fresh solutions and unexpected possibilities.

Bart Walter, Avian Grace. This remarkable and striking bronze sculpture of a bird’s feather is representative of the artist’s pure and honest interpretation of the subject…and you can see why his works are featured in leading public and private collections around the world. Bart Walter is also JHFAF’s 2019 Sculptor of the Year and is represented by Rehs Contemporary Galleries, NYC.

The Maynard Dixon Museum Comes to Jackson Hole (from Tucson – Booth 201). Explore and discover 50 select valuable museum artifacts, including significant art works, his poems and personal easel to better understand this legendary western artist, Maynard Dixon (1875-1946). Plus, author and curator Mark Sublette signs a copy of his new book, Maynard Dixon’s American West, Friday-Sunday, 3-4pm, plus Sat, 7-8pm.

Bland Design LLC, Portico (Microprismatic Moose Fence)A dazzling entry experience made with the future in mind. Long strips of microprismatic retroreflective sheeting are woven into cattle fence, creating a faceted surface. The walls dance with vivid iridescent colors when seen from afar and upon entering the building. After the JH Fine Art Fair, the reflective sheeting will be re-purposed to make reflective moose silhouettes to reduce animal vehicle collisions.

CLB Architects, Town Enclosure. Available for acquisition, Oct. 15-Nov. 15, 2019 (see show management). Presented by Jackson Hole Public Art and Center for the Arts. Currently on display at the Center for the Arts. The eco-minded design consists of tall panels of spruce, pine, and fir sourced from sustainably managed forests, which are deliberately arranged in a sort of circular theater. The structure has a limited material footprint, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability. The foundation and attachment pieces are steel, and no concrete is used for the foundation. Panels are angled inward, evenly spaced four feet apart, and each with one side painted black.

The Snow King Sports and Events Center is an ice skating/hockey rink that converts itself seasonally so as to host to major local fairs and expos.

It’s prominently located at the base of the magnificent Teton Mountains, which is one of the most popular winter ski slopes in the nation – and just 6 blocks from bustling Town Square, the center of Jackson Hole.
